I make photos of interiors, I film them, construct them, explore them in their materiality.
In interiors existing of different materials, I'm searching for suspenseful compositions in which these materials play the key role. I'm looking for the human, provisional constructing in a room, shabby bar, cinema or other kind of interior. I received this interest and sensitivity for material from my youth. Toys, clothes, a little shed, where homemade by my parents, from lacquered hardboard, natural coloured wool, and finished motor oil used to paint a wooden fence.
In more ‘anonymous’ formal spaces like offices that are designed professional, classy and minimal, I try to photograph just outside the main intention of the space. I make subtle interventions to disturb the clear infrastructure of the building.
Time, value and meaning are a heavy weight on some materials, and others seem to become completely meaningless by the universal and worldwide use (like Italian marble versus plastic tape). I try to give them the same status in the picture, installation or video, to create a new, unknown environment. To question the space by it's surface and it's reproduction.
